My back has been wonderful for the past two weeks after I went for acupuncture.  I went on Monday, June 29, 2009, and again on this Monday, July 13.  I have only had a couple of twinges of pain during that 2 ½ weeks!  That is really amazing.  I’m not sure what the actual key to my feeling better is, but I’m going to keep doing everything I have been doing.  I have felt so good that I haven’t even had a chiropractic adjustment or a massage during these two weeks.

I am continuing to do the exercises from Healing Back Pain Naturally by Art Brownstein, M.D., Harbor Pres, Gig Harbor, Washington. 1999.  ISBN 0-936197-39-0, in addition to the acupuncture.  In addition, I have concentrated on my posture, making sure to keep my head back (over my shoulders), by stomach in and the pelvis tipped forward.  The exercises include opening the chest for better breathing by leaning forward in doorways.  I have also been looking through
New Yoga for People Over 50 by Suza Fancina, Health Communications, Inc., Deerfield Beach, Florida 1997.  ISBN 1-55874453-3.  Both my massage therapist and my acupuncturist recommended that I do yoga.  I haven’t signed up for a class yet (my kids were here from out of state), but plan to do it in 2 weeks. 

I am still very excited as I am believing that my spine can be straightened and my chronic pain eliminated.  In other words, I believe scoliosis can be cured!
